Introduction

This is a custom product built by Earphone DIY Labs. Like AKG K3003i, each side of the earbuds is built with an 8mm Tesla dynamic driver for bass and mid, and a dual balanced armature driver for mid and high. All drivers are designed for pro audio in-ear applications. The shell is made by stainless steel and of identical size as AKG K3003i. To further reduce the weight for the best wearing experience, we use Aluminum alloy front cover to cut 1.5g weight.

How does the K3003i ultra-light kit sound?

With the Flagship 8mm Micro-Tesla and XWB driver

This is a 8mm driver powered by Mirco-Tesla driving technology with Ultra Wide Bandwidth (5~46 Khz) performance. It’s our flagship product originally used in IE800 kit. We proudly and highly recommend it if you are looking for the extreme experience. 

Compared with the other 7.8mm driver, this Tesla driver has higher resolution and better airiness (+3dB at 8-9 Khz), and unparalleled punchy bass.

With the 7.8mm Titanium driver

This driver is a full-spectrum driver originally used in our IE800 kit. Its character is with very low distortion at bass and low mid (<1% at 50Hz and 0.05% at 1KHz) than most commercial $200+ earphones. And we found it works decently with the dual BA driver as they complement each other pretty well. We highly recommend this driver if you are looking for heavy but clear bass in reasonable budget. And another character is great separation cross all bands, means you can clearly tell the sub-bass, bass…to ultra high sounds, as they no longer entangled together.
