Differences from BOSE QC (Quite Control) 30 

Although we use some original BOSE QC30 components, the key differences you shall know are:

  • Upgrade 10mm Tesla and Bio-Diaphragm drivers
  • No ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) function
  • No NFC and not compatible with Bose® Connect App
  • Regular 3-button controller as most Bluetooth earphones, no 5 button controller 

About the Flagship 10mm Micro-Tesla and Bio-Diaphragm Driver

This is a pair of 10mm micro driver units, flagship products of Earphone DIY Labs. This driver is made of with MicroTesla Drive Technology and 10μm Bio-Diaphragm, which is designed to provide the most natural sound, balancing deep low bass without sacrificing the midrange and high frequencies. Earphones made of this driver can easily outperform most top commercial IEMs like Xelento and T8ie. The shell is plated with 24K gold to better resist electromagnetic interference..

Compared with the original BOSE QC30 which sounds sharp and harsh due to its giant 12dB peak at 8~10Khz (see to the measurement on rating.com), this driver can well suppress the annoying sibilance. If you are a big fan of Bose, here is the original BOSE QC30 drivers FYI for reference. You might be wondering that drivers are very old fashion design (you can find similar Japan or Korean earbuds in 90s) and they are cheap (a few dollars) on the spare parts market.

If you want a raw measurement of your KIT, please email us at service@earphonediylabs.com – we use standard IEC 711 coupler, customized sound card and ARTA software to test the Frequency Response, Cumulative Spectral Decay, Burst and Energy Decay, Impulse Response – and we can offer both snapshot and raw data file.
